Foothill grows up for MipTV

Foothill Entertainment has redeveloped one of its animated series into a tween-skewing, live-action series and will be unveiling it to buyers at MipTV in Cannes next week.

The Santa Barbara-based outfit has reworked My Momtourage & Me into live-action to broaden its appeal to reach the older tween audience as well as the entire family, Foothill said. "We are not losing the feel of the original brand by moving to live-action but expanding on its potential," said Jo Kavanagh-Payne, president of the firm.

Created by Australian illustrator and writer Kyla May, My Momtourage & Me focuses on the ever-changing relationship between a teenager and her larger-than-life famous popstar mum.

As well as ageing up Momtourage, Foothill is doing likewise with another of its shows, live-action series Me & My Shadow. The property has been aged up for the whole family and a new script has been finalised.

Being coproduced with Great Western Entertainment of Australia, this series follows a teenage boy whose shadow takes on a life of its own. Foothill will also be pushing CGI toon Boy & the Dinosaur at MipTV.
